On this day, the new name of our country was adopted - the Russian Federation (Russia), the Declaration of State Sovereignty gave a countdown to the history of the state, which is based on civil liberties and the rule of law. Now this day is filled with the spirit of patriotism, on June 12, citizens celebrate the national unity of the people of Russia, shared responsibility for the present and future of the country.
Each region has its own solemn events, but there are also those that have become traditional: since 1995, on this day in the Kremlin, the head of state traditionally presents state prizes in the field of science, technology, literature and art. Since 2001, the beginning was laid with a mandatory salute, concluding a big concert on Red Square. Also on this day, every year, since 2007, the youth patriotic action "Russian Ribbon" has been held, in which activists distribute ribbons with tricolor to everyone.
